Edit, reorder, and group form blocks

Know the builder workspace

The left sidebar contains available sections and fields, the center canvas shows the current form, and the right properties panel configures the selected block. The canvas reflects the current builder state; it is not proof that buyers can see an unpublished change.

Add and edit blocks

1. Open the form in the builder.
2. Choose a block in the left sidebar. Click it to add it, or drag it to the intended page or canvas position.
3. Select the block on the canvas to open its properties.
4. Set its label, choices, required state, instructions, and other available options.
5. Use Preview to check the buyer view before saving.

Built-in workflow blocks such as Products, Name and Email, Shipping Address, Payment Instructions, Payment Proof, Coupon Code, Form Header, and MOQ Progress are singletons and can appear only once. Question and content blocks can be repeated.

For Form Header, Heading, and Text Box blocks, click the text on the canvas to edit it and open the compact formatting toolbar. It includes common font, size, emphasis, alignment, and color controls; use the gear for the full properties panel. Agreement text is edited from its properties panel in the current builder.

Reorder, copy, merge, or remove

Use a block's grab handle to move it. On desktop, dragging opens a compact section picker so you can place the block without scrolling through full cards, or you can drop directly on the canvas. On a phone, long-press the grab handle, drag to the intended position in the picker, and release. If dragging is difficult or unavailable, use Move to top, Move up, or Move down.

Copy duplicates a repeatable block, while the delete button removes it. A singleton cannot be copied. Undo reverses the latest grouped editor change and keeps up to 30 steps for the current session.

Use the merge slot between consecutive compatible cards, or drag a field into an existing group's internal drop zone, to place fields inside one visual container. Edit the shared group title and use Unmerge on an individual slot when it should become separate again. A group moves as one boundary unless you intentionally use its internal drop zone.

In the buyer view, the group renders as one labeled box and suppresses the member fields' individual headings. Simple inputs such as Date, Short Answer, Number, and Dropdown can be grouped, as can supported workflow blocks such as Name and Email, Shipping Address, Payment Instructions, and Payment Proof. Products, Collapsible Section, Hidden Field, and page breaks cannot be merged. Preview the group at phone width so field purpose, choices, and errors remain clear under the shared title.

Use keyboard shortcuts

• Ctrl+S on Windows or Cmd+S on Mac runs the same complete Save changes action as the buttons.
• Ctrl+Z on Windows or Cmd+Z on Mac runs builder Undo when focus is not in a normal form input.
• Escape deselects the selected block or closes the active editor control where supported.
• While editing supported inline text, Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, or Ctrl+U on Windows and Cmd+B, Cmd+I, or Cmd+U on Mac toggle Bold, Italic, or Underline.
• The inline text toolbar provides Bold, Italic, and Underline controls when a supported text block is being edited.

Add images safely

Image, product, choice, shipping, header, and background controls can accept an upload or an image URL. The Use image from URL preview contacts the remote host from your browser; saving that URL also asks EZFormz to fetch the file and store a copy on your account. Use only images you are allowed to use, and never paste a private URL containing a password, access token, signed credential, or personal data.

Give products and image choices descriptive text labels, and do not put essential instructions only inside an image. Check that images still make sense when they are small, unavailable, or viewed at high zoom.

Check keyboard and mobile use

Add blocks by clicking and reorder them with the move buttons to test the form without drag and drop. In Preview, use only the keyboard to move through every input and action, then repeat at about 320 pixels wide and at 200% zoom. Preview uses the public form renderer and the current builder state, including the theme, images, fields, merged groups, products, shipping, product pricing, low-stock display, payment methods, coupons, and page steps. It does not submit a real public order.

Keep labels short, tap targets separated, and required questions limited to information the buyer truly needs.
